We are pleased to remind you that the Polio Partners Group (PPG) will convene for our annual technical workshop and semi-annual high-level meeting on Friday, 6 December, Salle B at the Headquarters of the World Health Organization in Geneva. The technical workshop is scheduled to begin at 09.00 and the high-level meeting will begin at 12.30. Webex connection will be available for those participating remotely.

We are proposing agendas that will cover the following topics. Draft agendas will be circulated shortly. As always, we welcome and appreciate your feedback.

Technical Workshop

  • Current burden of disease caused by the occurrence of cVDPV
  • Risk to overall success of GPEI program posed by cVDPV outbreaks
  • GPEI key partners’ approach to address cVDPV risk
  • Challenges to stopping transmission of cVDPV outbreaks
  • Actions required to eliminate the risk of cVDPV outbreaks

High-level Meeting

  • High-level remarks and stakeholder input
  • Status of wild poliovirus detection and interruption
  • Biologic and public health basis of cVDPV outbreaks
  • Resource mobilization
