The UN Russian Language Day is observed annually on 6 June. The date coincides with the birthday of Aleksandr Pushkin, a Russian poet who is considered the father of modern Russian literature. Russian Language Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2010. The initiative of the UN Language Days was launched in order to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity and to promote equal use of all six of the UN's official working languages throughout the organization.

For the 2018 celebration of the Russian Language Day, come and see the Moscow Cozak Troop perform the traditional Russian folklore dances and a painting exhibition by Larissa Radevitch.  

 

About the Moscow Cozak Troop:
Moscow Cossack Choir was established in August 2013 in Moscow at the Palace of Culture “railroad”. The basis of the composition of the ensemble were members of the Moscow Cossack Song and Dance “Russian Will” Sergey Kulikov Vladimir Brinchugov Sergey Alekseev (accordion), Andrew Kargopolov Benjamin Novotochinov Lydia Dedyaeva, and Svetlana Svetlana Novotochinova Chebanko. Instrumental composition joined Dmitry Krivenkov (drums), Dmitry Stukalov (bass), Sergei Vinogradov (trumpet,flute,
zhaleyka), Dmitri Alexeev (trombone).
The team was recognized almost immediately the Moscow public, and within four months of the M
oscow Cossack Choir was invited through diplomatic channels of the Russian Embassy in Kuwait, as guest of honor at the celebration of the Day of the Constitution of Russia, in the framework of strengthening the friendly relations between Russia and Kuwait.
Nowadays Moscow Cossack Choir arranges recitals in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as beginning to successfully tour the regions of Russia in cities such as Eagle, Nizhny Novgorod, Bryansk, Norilsk 
and others. Quite often, the team performs at private parties, weddings, anniversaries, corporate events.
