ESCWA is organizing a second meeting on SME Digital Enabling Portal for the Arab Region (DEPAR), on 26 November 2019 in Amman, Jordan.It will take place on the first day of the Expert Group Meeting on Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship and The Regional Consultation on the Role of Science and Technology Parks for Sustainable Development in Arab Countries. The latter discusses solutions for bridging the gaps in the innovation ecosystems in the Arab region either at policy level or at practical level will focus mainly on technopreneurs and their role in addressing SDGs.
Hence, the ESCWA SME portal will be presented and discussed, noting that it services as a one-stop-shop for information regarding national legislation and procedures for setting up businesses, sources of funding available to SMEs, capacity building for entrepreneurs, accessing foreign markets and many other services. The meeting aims to involve SMEs' business owners in the development of the portal and discuss their actual needs.
