Demonstration of

Aïkido: an Exercise in Peace

To commemorate the International Day of Living Together in Peace, the University for Peace and Paz Sin Fronteras are pleased to invite you to a demonstration of Aïkido on Thursday 16 May 2019.

In the practice of Aikido, there is no competition, the partner of work is considered as a real partner of the work, a teaching tool with the valiant spirit and mutual respect, and not as an opponent to beat. Aikido is in real connexion with today’s issues, where people are constantly subjected to intense stress. This art martial is a way to find inner peace and live in total harmony with the world.

The objectives of the event are the following:

-           To commemorate the International Day of Living Together in Peace.

-           To study the values of peace, solidarity and tolerance.

-           To analyze how the practice of Aikido is a form of education towards respect, self-confidence, respect and peaceful settlement of disputes.
