Organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan presents a photo exhibition entitled “Kazakhstan - Land of the Great Steppe”. This event showcases approximately 65 images by various photographers, reflecting the culture, society and landscapes of the country. Images reflect both the traditional and historic, including jewelry, clothing, archtecure and customs, and the present day, such as the cityscape of the capital Astana. The exhibition will also present a small number of paintings, including illustrations of traditional Kazakh bridal costumes by artist Ms. Elmira Abdrakhimova, which reflect both history and cultural and symbolic meaning.
This event is held on the occasion of both Kazakstan’s 25th anniversary of UN membership on 2 March 1992, and its Independence Day on 16 December.
The exhibition will be on display at the Exhibition Gallery, E Building, 3rd Floor - Door 40. From 5 to 15 December 2017.
