In accordance with United Nations General Assembly resolution 73/131, “Scope, modalities, format and organization of the high-level meeting on universal health coverage,” the President of the General Assembly will convene a one-day High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage on Monday, 23 September 2019, at UN Headquarters in New York. MULTISTAKEHOLDER HEARING As part of the preparatory process for the high-level meeting, the President of the General Assembly, with the support of the World Health Organization and UHC2030, convened an Interactive Multi-Stakeholder Hearing on Monday, 29 April 2019 at the United Nations in New York. The Hearing was requested in the modalities resolution. Senior-level representatives of Member States, observers of the General Assembly, parliamentarians, representatives of local government, relevant United Nations entities, non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, invited civil society organizations, philanthropic foundations, academia, medical associations, the private sector and broader communities are invited to attend. In order to participate in the 29 April Hearing and/or the High-level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage on 23 September, relevant entities not accredited by ECOSOC must express interest here and must apply for special accreditation prior to 8 March 2019. Entities approved for participation will be informed and their representatives will be able to register individually in March for the 29 April Hearing. Special accreditation is now open until 8 March 2019. Stakeholder accreditation is available only for institutions. Individuals may not apply for accreditation.
