Description

Geneva Dialogues on Securing our Common Future:

Taking Forward the UN Secretary General’s Agenda for Disarmament

The Geneva Dialogue Series is a forum for exchange between members of the disarmament community—and beyond—on the Secretary-General’s Agenda for Disarmament. The final event will examine concrete and specific ways to reinforce partnerships for disarmament between all relevant stakeholders and to develop new opportunities for cooperation. It will discuss the following:

  • What specific steps can be taken to reinforce partnerships among disarmament stakeholders, and who should take them?
  • What mechanisms can be employed to draw in new or marginalized constituencies and help them contribute to progress in disarmament?
  • What role can the existing UN disarmament machinery play in developing and strengthening partnerships, and conversely, how can new partners and more effective partnerships contribute to revitalizing and improving the existing disarmament machinery?
