The United Nations General Assembly will hold its third high-level meeting on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases on 27 September 2018 in New York with the overall theme “Scaling up multi-stakeholder and multisectoral responses for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. An interactive hearing will be convened by the President of the General Assembly on 5 July 2018, in New York, as part of the preparatory process for the high-level meeting. Accreditation is now open until 23 May 2018 for relevant non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions and the private sector to attend the high-level meeting and participate in the interactive civil society hearing. Non-governmental organizations in consultative status with ECOSOC do not need to apply at this stage.
