The fourth multi-stakeholder hearing will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 21 February 2018, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.

Priority Theme: Facts instead of perceptions: Promoting an evidence-based discussion on migration

The hearing will focus on the importance of a fact-based narrative around migration. In recent years, migration has often dominated news headlines and public discourse around the world, in particular in the context of large movements of migrants and refugees.

The hearing will explore the role of governments and other stakeholders, including civil society, parliamentarians, the private sector and media in promoting an evidence-based discussion around migration. It will provide an opportunity to discuss ways to cooperate and identify concrete recommendations, to ensure a fact-based discussion around migration.
