The Role of Assistive Technology in Inclusive Education for Children with Disabilities
UNICEF, in partnership with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, are organizing a Special Event, interactive exhibition, entitled The Role of Assistive Technology in Accelerating Learning and Participation of Children with Disabilities, which will take place from 7-8 March 2019 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Hosted by United Nations Director General, Mr. Michael Moeller, The High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Michelle Bachelet, and EU Commissioner on Digital Technology and Society, Ms. Mariya Gabriel, the interactive exhibition is organized as a Special Event during the 40th Human Rights Council (HRC) Session and enjoys the co-sponsorship of the Permanent Missions of Brazil, Finland, Mexico, Namibia, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, and Uruguay.
Objective:
The interactive exhibition will showcase some of the most innovative assistive technologies globally which have the potential to accelerate and facilitate learning and inclusion in education.
Participating companies, organizations, and research community will display assistive technology products and solutions, present videos and other multimedia assets on good practices of use of assistive technology that can improve the functioning of children with disabilities and help them in learning and participation in education
