Calligraphy for Dialogue:
Promoting the culture of peace through culture and art
From 9 to 23 September 2019, the Department of Cultural Activities of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Liaison Office (UNESCO) will host at the Palais des Nations an artistic exhibition on calligraphy of the well-known artist Mr. Othman Alkuzaiem, with the support from the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the University for Peace established by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UPEACE).
This exhibition will coincide with a double commemoration, the International Peace Day -21 September- and the national day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia -23 September-.
The idea of organizing an artistic exhibition is strongly linked to the spirit of culture of peace and dialogue that draws its inspiration from the Charter of UNESCO.
As a forum on non-violence and social inclusion, the exhibition aims at offering a space for intercultural, intergenerational dialogue and for the promotion of creativity.
Join us for the opening on Tuesday 10 September at 12:30 p.m.
The opening will be followed by a reception
